Issue description
I'd really find it useful if there was a comment layer - not anything that would affect the final render at all or appear on the stage, just a place where I could put short, plain text comments in my list of layers noting things I have done or will need to do.

I would like to expand this feature request a little bit.

Instead of implementing of comment layer which is capable for text only, I propose to add a special parameter which allows to set ANY layer as non-renderable. That means such layer is visible on the workarea, but when you do a rendering or preview then it isn't visible. That will allow to have some kind of "widgets" or marks on the canvas besides of ordinary text comments.
