Issue description
In sif files exported from Inkscape I can't translate the group layers that originates from Inkscape layers. I get the error message: "Set Layer Parameter (TEST01-orig-from-inkscape):Transformation: Set Value Node (TEST01-orig-from-inkscape):Transformation>Composite:Offset: Direct manipulation of this Value Node type is not yet supported"

Recreating the group tree in Synfig I can move these new groups with the inkscape splines in them.

Original Inkscape image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xhhaulqn3ut38io/001_inkscape-layers.svg?dl=0 Inkscape exported sif: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dz781u7trvep5vo/002_inkscape-layers-exp.sif?dl=0 Synfig recreated groups: https://www.dropbox.com/s/u7mact7kp7x2b60/003_synfig-layers_002.sif?dl=0
Steps to reproduce this issue
Create a layered image in Inkscape. Export as sif form Inkscape. Open in synfig. Translate a group. Fail.

Yes, for some reason there is something wrong here. As temporary workaround you can make group translation editable in the following way:
  1. Expand the Transformation parameter of Group Layer
  2. Right-click the Offset subparameter and choose "Disconnect"

Fixed in the last development version - https://morevnaproject.org/2016/06/21/synfig-studio-builds-updated-2/

Actually, the problem appears because Inkscape's SIF exporter plugin writes groups in old synfig format (0.64.x). The best would be to update the exporter. But anyway, we have a fix for such behaviour now.

I am trying to translate some Inkscape SVG files into a .sif file for use in C4D. I have successfully translated the first curriculum vitae editing layer but when I try and translate more than one layer it gives me an error saying that there is no such object as "svg:use". Does anyone know why this might be?

The translation may be quite challenging sometimes, I agree. Thank you for the problem-solving. It is great you can find solutions to your issues online. For instance, I recently stuck with my cv editing and found the required information quickly.
