Issue description
When I am using Synfig Studio from the KDE Desktop, I often have difficulty setting the Amount parameter to 0 from the Parameters Panel, particularly for an Advanced Outline layer.

I can set the Amount Paramter in the Parameters Panel to any other value apart from 0, including 0.01.

When I enter 0 in the Amount field the value is ignored and the previous value is redisplayed. I can only set the value to 0 by right clicking on a waypoint and editing it.

Linux 3.6.11-3.fc18.x86_64 Fedora 18 Beta AMD A8-3820 APU x 4 plus NVidia Ge Force GT 430, nouveau drivers.

I have not encounted this issue when using Synfig Studio with the GNOME 3.6 Desktop. I am using Fedora 18 with both the KDE SC 4.9.4 and GNOME 3.6 desktops. This may be a GTK issue rather than a Synfig issue.
Steps to reproduce this issue
i) Draw a shape using the BLine tool that results in both an Advanced Outline layer and a Region BLine layer being created.

ii) Try and set the Amount of the Advanced Outline layer to 0 in the Parameters Panel.

Happens for me too from time to time. But I can't find a way to reproduce that.

I'm on Fedora 17, Gnome 3.4 Desktop. The file attached by you works fine here. But I repeat - for me the bug is irregular and random.

The bug might be related (or duplicate of) Bug report 38 - Parameters interfere with each other.

That's very interesting; I never had it occur for me under GNOME (and under GNOME 3.6 it seems to be working fine), but under KDE on Fedora 18 it's almost perfectly repeatable.

Because it happens more often under KDE than GNOME hopefully it will make the bug easier to fix.

Using the latest 64-bit development version downloaded from the website I can now recreate this bug repeatably.

i) Open Synfig Studio ii) Select the Star tool iii) Draw a Star on the canvas. iv) Change the star's amount to .545 -> AMOUNT CHANGES v) Change the star's amount to 0 -> WILL NOT CHANGE

Hopefully this will help diagnose the problem.
