“...That was the original idea from day one - the elimination of the tweening process. But it is certainly not the only feature of Synfig that makes it unique. In addition to eliminating the tweening process, I also wanted Synfig to be used for pretty much every part of production except story-boarding and editing.”

Today I would like to share a quick report about progress on making Synfig training DVD.
First of all, I would like to announce the theme - it will be "Cut-out animation". The training course is targeted at the audience with zero knowledge of Synfig and provides step-by-step guide to master the technique of cut-out animation.
The training course summarizes my experience of teaching Synfig to childrens of age 14-17 for the last three years and is basically repeats the content of the workshops I did for for educational institutions of Moscow and St. Petersburg in April this year.
The training course will consist of 10 chapters and will be released in two languages - English and Russian.
Before giving the real numbers, I would like to give a quick overview of our workflow:
At this moment we concentrated on the first 4 steps. Here's the stats:
The release date isn't set at the moment, but we do our best to make it happen sooner.
By the way, we internally planned our workflow from the beginning in the special way, which makes adding the new languages as easy as possible, so we consider to add more languagesafter release will be done. I bet we can rely on community effort here if the process of adding new language will be clearly documented.
