“...That was the original idea from day one - the elimination of the tweening process. But it is certainly not the only feature of Synfig that makes it unique. In addition to eliminating the tweening process, I also wanted Synfig to be used for pretty much every part of production except story-boarding and editing.”

Last two months we were busy with development of bones feature for Synfig. This feature is sponsored by the supporters of our past fundraising campaigns, which we have held in October and November.
Today I am happy to share two videos (below) demonstrating the results we managed to achieve.
As you can see, the bones feature gets closer to the usable state. You can test it already by downloading latest development snapshots of Synfig here - http://www.synfig.org/cms/en/download/development.
A BIG WARNING: Those developments snapshots are not stable and intended exclusively for testing purposes only. It's almost 100% possible your files saved/created using this version won't open in earlier/future versions (because we are still in the middle of reworking some essential layers right now).
At the moment we are running another fundraising campaign to continue full-time development of Synfig in January - http://igg.me/at/synfig-january-2014/x/2188395.
It's only a few days left and (as of the moment I'm writing this) it's still about 50% to go. The success of the campaign will allow us to continue Synfig development at the same rates and bring you more cool features. If you like our work, please consider supporting our campaign by donating or spreading a word. Thank you.
