“...That was the original idea from day one - the elimination of the tweening process. But it is certainly not the only feature of Synfig that makes it unique. In addition to eliminating the tweening process, I also wanted Synfig to be used for pretty much every part of production except story-boarding and editing.”

We have launched a new crowdfunding campaign to fund a full-time Synfig development in February. And here I would like to take a chance and clarify our further strategy for establishing a sustainable funding.
First of all you might notice the amount of target goal is less than the usual monthly amount of $1300. We decreased it down to $1000 with an intention to start shifting our focus to other schemes of funding. There are two alternative options available at the moment.
For people, who would like to give as direct and regular support we are introducing an option to subscribe.
The collected money will go to cover the remaining part of our budget, required to keep monthly full-time development. With this option we hope to allocate a "stable" segment of funding which eventually could allow us to get rid of the tedious routine of running crowdfunding campaigns each month.
You can subscribe by clicking the button below (or using the widget on the frontpage).
EDIT: If you donating from Russia, please click here.
Starting from this month we also have a presence at the BountySource.
The BountySource service allows anyone to place a reward for a given bug and attract the attention of developers to fix it. Anyone can fix the bug and get a reward, so this also should play well for increasing project activity and eventually attract other developers.
So, if you have a long-desired bug to fix at our bugtracker - feel free to submit it and place a bounty. Also, you can pick the one which I have already placed bounty for, and join us by increasing reward (thus, making it more attractive for developers to fix). Spreading a word about bounties is also encouraged.
We believe that bringing those two funding alternatives would help us to get closer to sustainable Synfig development and possibly give it another good kick. But at this transitional moment we still heavily depend on the success of our fundraising campaign, so your support is much appreciated. Help us to spread a word and reach the goal! Thank you!
