“...That was the original idea from day one - the elimination of the tweening process. But it is certainly not the only feature of Synfig that makes it unique. In addition to eliminating the tweening process, I also wanted Synfig to be used for pretty much every part of production except story-boarding and editing.”

Besides the terminology rewrite sprint (which is getting close to the finish) we have some other news to share. Recently Konstantin Dmitriev announced results of his latest developments for the character animation in Synfig:
He is going to publish his template for character animation in April and make it available under the CC-Zero license.
But that's not all. He also plans to travel to Libre Graphics Meeting and give a workshop there about the character animation technology using this template. Libre Graphics Meeting (LGM) is an annual meeting where developers and designers from all over the world meet together to work on the many different tools in the Free, Libre and Open Source. It will be held on Madrid (Spain) form April 10th to 13th.
Although LGM offers refund the travel costs, there are people who can't afford the travel by themselves before it were refunded. This is the case of Konstantin Dmitriev. That's why, Konstantin is running a donation campaign to collect the money that would allow him to travel to Madrid. Notice that it is a fixed-amount campaign so if the goal won't be reached, then Konstantin wouldn't be able to attend the LGM event (and everyone will get their money back).
Lately Konstantin is full of new ideas and working hard towards implementing them. Wouldn't it be fantastic if he could present his character animation technology at LGM? Specially this time, he could also meet our main developer (Carlos López) who has confirmed his assistance to the meeting. Good things might happen.
