Some time ago Darco (the original developer of Synfig) said in his blog:
"I realize that the sorry state of the website is stunting the growth of the Synfig community ... Ultimately what is needed is for some people to help set up and maintain a real community-oriented website. I cannot be the driving force behind Synfig right now or in the foreseeable future, so some other qualified individual (or group of individuals) needs to take over daily management and maintenance."
There are long time passed since that, but the Synfig website was remaining a weak point of the whole project. Being understanding that we have started web infrastructure reorganization at the end of 2009. As result, you probably noticed that our website was quite a disaster last year.
Finally, after months of work, we are happy to present you a new version of Synfig website, which (we hope) will help to bring the community experience to the new level.
Please notice, that this event is just a first step in the long trip. Actually we have turned some things that were working on the old site off, just to get things behaving. That's includes Gallery, Polls and other miscellaneous things. We will get that back soon. Also, we are planning to continue extending Synfig web infrastructure to make your experience even better.
